Prof. Jie Han is a full professor at Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering at the University of Kansas in the United States. He served as a member of many international advisory boards and technical committees, and session chair for a number of international conferences. He was elected to the ASCE Fellow in 2014 and is now serving as the president of the International Association of Chinese Infrastructure Professionals. He received his BS and MS degrees in geotechnical engineering from Tongji University in China in 1986 and 1989, respectively and then received his MS and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1995 and 1997, respectively. He worked as a manager of technology development at Tensar Earth Technologies, Inc. until 2001. He has been a professional engineer in Georgia since 1998. Dr. Han became an assistant professor at Department of Civil Engineering at Widener University from 2001 to 2004 and promoted to an associate professor in 2004. He joined the University of Kansas as an associate professor in August 2004 and was promoted to a full professor in 2010.
