Prof. Yong Li received the B.Sc. and Ph. D. degrees in 2004 and 2011, respectively, from the College of Electrical and Information Engineering, Hunan University, Changsha, China. Since 2009, he worked as a research associate at the Institute of Energy Systems, Energy Efficiency and Energy Economics, TU Dortmund University, Dortmund, Germany, where he received the second Ph. D. degree in 2012. From September 2012 to March 2013, he worked as a Research Fellow at The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia.
In 2013, Prof. Yong Li was granted by Youth Thousand Talents Program of China, and Program for New Century Excellent Talents of Ministry of Education of China. In 2015, he was granted by Huxiang Youth Talents Program of Hunan Province of China. He holds 7 Chinese Patents and 8 Software Copyrights. As a corresponding author, published more than 80 high-quality international journal and conference papers. His current research interests include power system stability analysis and control, ac/dc energy conversion systems and equipment, analysis and control of power quality, and HVDC and FACTS technologies.
Dr. Li is the Associate Editor of IET Power Electronics and IET Generation, Transmission & Distribution. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, a member of IET, and a member of the Association for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies (VDE) in Germany.
