Margaret Murphy is a Managing Fisheries Scientist at Anchor QEA, LLC in Liverpool, NY. She received my B.S. in biology from Siena College and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Fisheries from SUNY-ESF. She has been working in consulting most of her career and have worked on projects around the country related to contaminated sediments and impacts on water quality and fisheries; water withdrawals; and habitat assessments. She has been a member of AFS for over 20 years and the Water Quality Section for 6 years. She has served as President of the SUNY-ESF (1990-1991) and New York Chapters (1998-1999), and as the first advisor to the NY Student subunit from 1998 to 2002. She has been active in the New York Chapter activities as well and served as raffle chairperson(1997, 2000) and Program Chair (2002). As President of the Northeastern Division (2005-2006),she served on the Governing Board (2004-2006) and Management Committee (2004-2006). She was the Student Activities Chair for the AFS 2006 meeting in Lake Placid. She was co-chair for the Outstanding Chapter Award Committee in 2006-2007 and chair of the Award of Excellence Committee in 2007-2009. She was a member of the Strategic Planning Committee from 2008-2009 and the Meritorious Service Committee in 2010 and 2011. She have been a Certified Fisheries Professional since 1997.
